I think hqi's are suppose to be in pendants, or you can use retros but you'd have to place a glass in front of the bulb, I think it has something to do with uv if Im not mistaken. Well i'll check for you anyways

Yep, gotta have the HQI's under glass or the UV will cause problems.
Pendant or a enclosure is the only way to go.

omg...i would like to upgrade to hqi 250's, but i need dual. i really dont plan on spending $350 for each pendant, yikes!

Well these pendants are included with everything you need, even with bulb, AB 10ks and that's a very good price in my opinion

Hey sorry took awhile, but I called the place that carries them and apparently there out of the 48" fixtures, sorry.. But I'm trying to get a quote as I type. But ill keep you informed when I do get the pricing
