20k Bulb Questions

I'm thinking of replacing my 14k phoenix bulb w/ a 20k DE bulb to see what kind of difference it does to my tank. So my question to you all is, what brand 20k would you recommend and why?

get Xm. In my opinion the 20k is a lot more blue than than 14k.

I know it's alot more blue, I'm just hoping it'll pull more color out of my SPS.

I agree.. I use XM as well. I liked what I saw in Will's tank and he recommended them so I bought them and started using them.

the blue will help out on the color of your sps for sure

Yeah my corals have been doing much better since I got the XM's..

I run XM 20K's(2-250W's and 1-400W) on my tank. You can check it out under Member Tank section.

Jasper your tank is DA BOMB!!! :eek: So do you have the 2-250 on the outside and the 1-400 in the middle? It must be a tight squeeze? Do you have any other lights running? I bought the Green Birdnest, and Candy Cane coral from Tim..Still doing well..:D

I was running 2-96W 03 Actinics which I switched this weekend to 2-7100K just to see how they'll work. I have plenty of room for the lighting. You're correct on the placement of the lights. I'm going to try the Iridius 20K bulbs from MParkis on my next change out to see how they work. But I do like the XM's.
