I'm looking at my return outlet and it's pumping microbubbles into my tank... What are some reason for this?

i didn't cement my ball valve.... and its SLOWLY leaking... couldnt this be the problem?

yes.. it could be sucking in air for sure..

or the pump could be cavitating if the input is being restricted... my money is on the leak, though.

Plumber's putty. I've used it to plug up hard to reach seals, etc and it works pretty good. Also, it never fully hardens to you can pull it off when you want to permanently glue a fitting.

Not that I know of. The brand I've used is Oatey. I just grabbed whatever they had at HD.
