Skimmer problem

I got a guy new to the hobby paid for a whole setup and the guy who set it up didn't check the skimmer so its making alot of noise.. If someone lives in the eastlake area that can help him LMK.. Thanks..

If no one volunteers, you can find out the type of skimmer and we can help diagnose the problem. The first thing that comes to mind is a bad/dirty pump. Other things could be clogged venturi/injector, etc. Good luck.

Thanks guys I havent heard back from him so hopefully it's fixed. He bought his tank 125G from a guy on CL paid $1500 and the setup was done pretty quick.. Hes new to the hobby so doesn't know anything about SW.. I'll keep you guys updated.

I checked it out last night and the problem was that he has a leak in one of the fittings going to the skimmer. It really just needs to be taken apart, cleaned up and put back together. It looks like no type of maintenance was ever done to the system.

Thanks Jose I'm going to call him tonight and see what I can do for him..

No problem. His system is a little out dated. He talked with AW and they told him that he should update his skimmer. He has the old style.

He paid way too much plus he has 5+ tangs going in there on monday.. Thanks alot Jose hopefully I can get over there to get his system up to date..

The fish came with the tank. Theres more then 5 full sized tangs..
