nals,

don't you maintain a SG with topoff and such? Maybe you do daily water changes, haha. Scripps tends to run 1.024-1.025 by my refrac for anyone wondering...

i put fresh in for evap. and every once in awhile put salt water in for evap to make up for salt creep. i check salinity perhaps once a month, maybe less but certainly not more. it never varies enough to matter.

I'm with Nalbar on this one... The Zen reefkeeper's way of reefing. Get Scripps water, make up for evap, and change 5gal of water every other week or so.

Salinity is what it is.

yea, basically all i do, is i have a line marked in my sump, i keep adding fresh to keep the line even, and then i replace 20% every week.

NSW and a magic marker (to mark the correct level in the sump). Top off to that point.

Zen reefkeeping . . . . Ummmmm . . . .

zen is the way to go. ever since the san diego reefnerds (or is it 'reeftards'?) argued me into scripps there is no looking back for me. no dosing, no testing, no checking.

watch the tank...

feel the tank...

become the tank!

I have been using scripps water exclusively for 3 years. I haven't tested my water in 1 1/2 years.....last time I checked salinity was 3 months ago, 1.026.

1.026 or so I hope. I need to get a refractometer to be for sure.
