Hi Guys!
I'm super excited to find this forum and learn and buy from locals.
I am looking at starting a new reef tank ~ 60 gallons. I had one 10 years ago and sadly had to part with it due to a move and starting a family.

Well now that my kids are older and we are settled in a house, I'm ready to start again and have pretty much forgotten everything. LOL. The last system that I had was pretty basic, I ran it as natural as I could with only a protein skimmer and it did great! I had such rapid coral growth that I had to sell my frags regularly to the LPS.

Anyhow, I'm looking for something that isn't complicated as my kids will be involved. I'm undecided between the Red Sea Max C 250 and the Red Sea Max Reefer 250.

Right now I'm thinking to go with the C series and spend the ~ on the LED retrofit.
If anyone has these tanks and is willing to share their thoughts and regrets, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

Ok stayed up nearly all night debating. I ended up getting a Red Sea Reefer 450 ~ 115 gallon. Figured I'd have no regrets of wanting to go bigger. I also liked the options of being able to pick my lights and have a rimless top. My LFS gave me a heck of a deal on a hard to find item, so I'm pretty stoked.
Now I'm in the market for about 125 lbs of rock and some LED lights . Where is the best place to go without going broke for these items?

When I started my tank, I got everything set up and started cycling with minimal rock and a full sand bed. I bought all my rock off of this site and save hundreds. Be patient it comes available often and depending on the direction you go you'll need/want a lot of it. The people here are very helpful and nice. If they don't know the answers most time the know who does.

Wow, thanks everyone! I'm so happy to find so many helpful friends. RedRyder87 - yes, it's my dream tank too! It's nice to be able to go big and buy all the high quality goodies this time around, vs. last time when I was on a budget. I think I found rock, so now I'm shopping for a good skimmer, circulation pumps and LED's. :)
