oooo. sounds neat... my only concern is the temperature of the water.. and skimming... hrm.... cause sharks are pretty sensative to that sort of thing, aren't they?

That's what I was thinking, but I am sure there is a way to insulate the lagoon at night, like the pool coverings. I am thinking about getting the book to just see how they set it up.

yeah, if anything, it'd be a cool book to read. Outside of that, I'm sure you could make a lagoon like that and add any neccessary equipment. I just think it'd still be kind of expensive/annoying to upkeep. with debris flying in all the time, huge water changes (assuming the lagoon is nice and spacious for the little fellas). It would still be a fun project, nonetheless; and quite a conversation peice.. "OMG, Billy fell into the shark lagoon! I got $50 on the baby great white, 3 to 1 against!

Good one Eric! :) That reminds me of the shark exhibit at Sea World. I'll stick to keeping koi ponds for now ;)

yeh, I am not about to run out and build one as I have enough tanks to take care of. Just looked cool and thought I would get some feedback from the experts as maybe someday in the future....... you know, up against the house so you can put a viewing window from the basement/gameroom.... :D

i want to see testimonies from people who literally built one, rather than people who only saw his lagoon. sounds cool though.

oo. viewing room from the basement.. that would be sweet.. Might as well do what that one guy did and build a huge shark tank down there... but testimonials would be a good thing to look at.

Man, I've thought abotu doing this for like 10 years. Only thing I am missing is the 100K it would cost me to build. So think, swimming pool size for snorkling and window in the living room into the "pond" No skimming, just a bunch of LR and LS, a true 12" DSB throughout the pond! Water movement and heating provided by a typical pool filter and solar heating. Just need that 10 mil so I can spare 100k on a reef pond.
