Heat Resistant Egg Crates?

Can the white, plastic egg crates withstand constant heat from a 250W MH bulb? I'm thinking of placing a piece over the opening in my tank to prevent the fisheys from jumping out. FYI ... the MH is about 8-10" above the top of my tank. Also, I have 2 fans inside of my canopy ... one blowing air in and one blowing air out.

try it on the weekend and keep checking it every houre to be safe. I think it should not be a problem.
