So what's the final verdict? I have two mp40s and they are loud, how much would it cost to upgrade them? Do you have to buy the driver and wet side both to get them 90 percent quieter ?

Yes, only the driver. It's either $50 or $75. Yes, quieter but you don't get the extra 40% flow.

Nice! I would be interested in hearing how much quieter the driver actually is! I was unaware that the new model is 40 percent more flow! Looks like I might not bet getting a gyre after All! Thanks!

I received 2 MP-40's tonight and got them hooked up. Vast improvements!
My 2014 MP-40's were quiet, but these sound like a laptop pc fan at low speed.

These things are super quiet. Here's a video that doesn't tell you much since the return pumps are on but trust when I say you hear very little unless you're actually up on it. Thumbs up!

It would have been really stupid of Ecotech if the QDs didn't talk to prior generation of Vortechs.
