Not sure, but I started adding the product
Vitality by Seachem
And I get extremely vivid coloring on all my fish now

maybe give that a try

whats there diet now, smaller clowns need more nutrient for growth

yeah, I started Vitality a few weeks ago. everything seems good but just this one clown has that gray stripe. its weird.

it eats fine, breathes fine, and swims around like normal. no signs of sickness or parasite.

also, she is the biggest clown in my tank. roughly 2.5 - 3 inches

Ha ha. Yeah, i tried that Vitality after i saw your tank that day. So far so good, but i did notice recently she has been curious about my rbta in the tank. So has her buddy, the black clown in the pic. Both are swimming around it and keep looking like they want to go in, but havent yet

What jkennedy said. Just sell it as a morph for something like $500. That's what they do with the corals hahaha

He he. Ill put it on Ebay and see how much it goes for. Just joking.

Its going to be cool to see if it gets fully black or stays grey....but it definitely is different. The clown looks a lot cooler in person. Ill try to get a better pic up.

Huh, never seen that before but a quick google search comes up with about ten people who have had it happen, same exact stripe, with no rhyme or reason.

Breed it. FD 50 shades of grey clown. Jump on it while the movie is out. If you had babies now, Jesse could take them to the premiere and sell them for you.

Tagging along on this one. 2 in SD on otherwise healthy fish. I have seen nothing online other than the few cases. Would love to know what causes this.

Are you kidding?
dude put a cover on that tank and check your ammonia levels asap

FDdragon

i checked and the levels are good. i did a water change a week ago as well and dont have that much livestock in that big tank.

i was hoping not to need a cover/canopy so i might just build a perimeter wall with some screen to keep the jumpers in. All the other fish are fine.

Use clear pond netting 1/4 " bra sells it doesn't stand out or interfere with the lights as far as appearance.

Ill check it out, thanks.
Its just weird because ive been topless for a year and a half with the same fish...and never had a fish jump. Not suggesting anything but strange things have been happening recently with this tank. My sock in sump was completely out of its home the other day (possibly pressure of water)....and someone keeps flipping the switches on my halides (possible safety feature in ballast...which causes the switches to flip off) but even after i physically turn the halides off at night (flip the switches to off) the next morning they turn on (with timer) because switches were flipped back on. But nobody touches those switches so i thought that was a bit weird. And when i found my clown this morning i thought it was odd where she was laying....we was roughly centered of tank but there is a good 2 foot center brace on tank. Maybe she flopped over to the location but she usually hangs around the left corner of tank. Ive seen her there every night. So if she jumped she had a running start and cleared 1 foot if she jumped right where the brace starts...Or she flopped her way the distance.

Im probably just rambling but i just found it odd. Ha ha.

And when i came home today i found a frag plug with some red zoas that ive never seen before. And my wife asked me if i bought a new frag...which i didnt. The plug was just laying on the sand bed. Hhhmmmmmm
