Hello everyone,
I have never been good at these things so please try to hold back. I currently have three tanks going. Also I am fairly new to SW so please let me know if I am doing something the hard way or incorrectly.
First tank is a 400g display Starphire 1" glass with a 85g acrylic dual sump system. DC-12000 pump, ASM G-4 Skimmer, 55w UV sterilizer, two PhosBan reactors one with SeaChem De-nitrate and the other with carbon and lastly I have a 25w PAR 38 LED flood light on the refugium. On top of the tank I have one 48" Current LED light and another 48" LED light (cheap ebay speacial). The tank is 84"Lx30"W36"H give or take an inch or two. I have had it set up for about two weeks now. My water parameters are .020-.022 salinity, PH 8.2-8.4, Nitrite(ate) is 0, ammonia is 0. Only have 5 fish in the tank, four yellow tale damsels (1" long) and a clown tang (3" long).
Second tank is a 75g FW tank I use to breed African Cichlids. I have the biggest cascade filter and a cheap led light that never come on. Livestock in the tank are two male Electric Yellow, 8 female Electric Yellow, 2 male OB Peackocks and 12 female OB Peackocks.
Third tank is a 10g FW I use to grow the cichlid and also that is where I set up the artificial tumbler after I strip the holding females. I usually have around 50-70 fish in this tank. I sell them as quickly as possible and if the get to large then I take them to a LFS and get store credit. I use my hobby to pay for my hobby.
Thats all I can think of for now. I look forward to learning all I can and hopefully buying some good fish for my 400g.
