Hello everyone,

I have never been good at these things so please try to hold back. I currently have three tanks going. Also I am fairly new to SW so please let me know if I am doing something the hard way or incorrectly.

First tank is a 400g display Starphire 1" glass with a 85g acrylic dual sump system. DC-12000 pump, ASM G-4 Skimmer, 55w UV sterilizer, two PhosBan reactors one with SeaChem De-nitrate and the other with carbon and lastly I have a 25w PAR 38 LED flood light on the refugium. On top of the tank I have one 48" Current LED light and another 48" LED light (cheap ebay speacial). The tank is 84"Lx30"W36"H give or take an inch or two. I have had it set up for about two weeks now. My water parameters are .020-.022 salinity, PH 8.2-8.4, Nitrite(ate) is 0, ammonia is 0. Only have 5 fish in the tank, four yellow tale damsels (1" long) and a clown tang (3" long).

Second tank is a 75g FW tank I use to breed African Cichlids. I have the biggest cascade filter and a cheap led light that never come on. Livestock in the tank are two male Electric Yellow, 8 female Electric Yellow, 2 male OB Peackocks and 12 female OB Peackocks.

Third tank is a 10g FW I use to grow the cichlid and also that is where I set up the artificial tumbler after I strip the holding females. I usually have around 50-70 fish in this tank. I sell them as quickly as possible and if the get to large then I take them to a LFS and get store credit. I use my hobby to pay for my hobby.

Thats all I can think of for now. I look forward to learning all I can and hopefully buying some good fish for my 400g.

And I will upload pictures when I have more free time.

As you can see I still need to finish staining everything. But now that I have the tank up and running it seems that all motivation to finish the carpentry has been lost. All I want to do lately is work on the tank itself, or just gaze at it all day.

I love the dual sump. Let's me have all my mechanical filtration in one and biological in another. Setting it up I wasn't thinking (didnt know) about which to put first, but now that I'm a little smarter I guess I should have put the refugium first (close to filter socks), so the skimmer wouldn't strip nutrients that would be beneficial to chaeto. Either way, fish look happy and water is crystal clear.

The fish (Vlimimgi Tang) that has grown the most. I bought him when he was about an inch, now he's about three.

The Blue tang I rescued that turned out to be a Yellow Belly Blue Tang.

Sorry for the cell phone pics. Please feel free to point out thing I should or should not do if you see something.

My only suggestion is to pay close attention to what you want in the tank, overall. With that puffer (or trigger, can't really tell) in there coral will not be a wise investment. Its nice to have all that real estate. Looks good.

It's a stars and stripes. I'm not doing any coral other then GSP and maybe try a zoa frag or two. The puffer is extremely docile and has left the snails and hermits alone thus far.

I thought he looked more like a puffer than a trigger. :)

Get a bunch of butterfly fish!

If I did I would get a bunch of Latticed Butterflyfish. Although I am going to get a Heniochis or two.
