I just put a Chromis in my nano tank and it is always hiding. It will come out on occasion. Can I do anything to make it come out more?

Add more and watch them dwindle down until you only have one again. Guaranteed or your money back.

nano no good for chromis

they will stay out and a bout with a school of em "5 or more"

maybe a little Bicolor Blenny would work better in your nano as eye candy:2cents:

You don't need to add that many. Add another one and it'll come out more often.

I have three chromis that have been with me for about 3 years. They don't dwindle that much. I would trade out the chromi for a small blenny as suggested above. Maybe even a goby/pistol shrimp pair. You would see them interacting with each other all the time.

Yours would be the exception not the rule. I've read countless threads on chromis taking each other out till there's only one. I've probably gone through at least 25 in the last 3 years on my 125.

my 5 chromi's are a couple of years old

ive lost maybe two in last four years

enough space and rock cave's ...

there fast enough to escape being picked on / depending on other species in tank

may even have to due with them preferring smaller school's 6-10

in set up's 100G or smaller

Maybe those are AZ chromis, I also have never had a problem keeping chromis, one of the easiest fish to keep in a group. SD chromis know how to relax.

What size is your tank? What kind of top do you have on it. My 10 was no good for Gobies and blennies. Tried several. They all ended up carpet surfing, even with a pistol shrimp. Good luck.
