The roof on the San Diego Sports Arena can support 140,000lbs in addition to supporting itself. Take off 15,000lbs for the scoreboard and that leaves a load capacity of 125,000lbs. Quite often we are hanging very close to that for concerts. Remember that the next time you head to the arena to rock out to your favorite band. Look up and see how much weight is hanging over your head. :) Furthermore, all that equipment was in a bunch of 53' semi-trailers at 8am that day. It was all unloaded, pushed into the building, assembled, hung, energized, and tested, typically by 3pm. Concerts start at 8pm, end at 11pm, and everything is back in the trucks, rolling to the next venue by 2am, in most cases. Average show comes in anywhere from 10 to 20 trucks and often times pushes 30 trucks. (Taylor Swift was 27, as an example)
