Dude by Saturday morning they should be able to swim from the pond to the truck with all the rain we're going to get!

definitely no swimming! You don't have to do anything but help carry the six boxes from the backyard to the car. There will be another dude there that will bag the fish. You need to be big though and at least as strong as Marlin cause the box is at least 120 pounds and needs to go up some steps. Its akward and because of the steps we can't use a dolley.

Thats the other problem with the rain those steps are going to be slick. I really need some help.

I am thinking about hitting the show since I cant fish La Jolla. One way or another I am going to see some fish. If you need help I can probably help you out, even have a large fish net (and a fishing pole), text me Friday at 619-247-3767 and let me know if you need help. I live by Valhalla so its not far, just early and have plans with my fiance for an early dinner then cigars and beer with buddies to the storm Friday night. Edward

Just read this, glad you got help Marde

yeah Chad just showed up out of the blue unannounced and then proceeded to lift the biggest girls up the steps to the truck. i also met smilinavenger who also did the heavy lifting. There was no way these fish would of made it to the show without them. THANK YOU

So how did your efforts pay off. Out of 250 fish at the show:

The biggest red and white fish won Grand Champion of the whole show
The Biggest yellow fish that Russell was teasing won best in class
The other shinny yellow fish won The second highest award of the show (Grand champion non gosanke)
The other red white and black fish won best in class
The smallest fish also won its best in class

It was a good day!

There where around 300 koi at the show. Its been 10 years since someone from san diego won the koi show. So it was cool to keep the biggest prizes home!

You better keep em pretty! My buddy Max has really gotten into Koi. In a year or two he might be giving you a run for your money. He's been importing some fish from Japan. He's got the Koi bug worse then the Reef bug. He just had two custom koi ponds built. One is pretty large and it's only going to house his two prized fish. I don't know anything about what make a Koi a grand champion so maybe you two should get together for some Koi talk.

The winning fish is seven years old and she can live another 20 years no problem. There are reports of koi in Japan living hundreds of years. She actually has not peaked yet and still can get better
