Awesome little tank! What kind of lights do you have over it? Does it have a sump or is everything HOB? Is it on a controller for dosing or is everything manual?

Sorry just noticed most of my questions were answered in the links in your sig. Neat pipefish in the last pic.

I do have a Reef Keeper Lite too monitor pH and control lights, temp, and top-off. 2 part Calc and alk supplement administered manually and zeovit nano supplements.

Very nice tank. How are you liking the zeovit nano supplements?

DiverDave
01-29-2014, 05:52 PM
I'm not too sure about the supplements. In such a small tank, it's 1-2 drops of this a day, and 1 drop of that every 2 days… I believe that I've seen some color up, and I can report that I have practically no nuisance algae. Nothing negative to say about it so I'll use them up and see what happens, if anything, when I stop.

NOW I'm full...almost. I'm waiting for some of Mario's Acan frags, then Finnished. I want to add a sump to help keep the water parameters more stable, then just watch it grow. ;)

Here are the latest picts (May 1, 2014)… I'm working on a sump set up for the tank this week. Little 10 gal will need some help with the up coming heat!

24 gal. It's an 18 cube, low iron glass. $125 including shipping on eBay...and it fits my stand great!

I picked up a used Aquamaxx HOT calc reactor. It's the discontinued one but you can still see it on their site. After buying a couple of retaining clips and a replacement screw to hold the bubble counter on the reactor, it's doing great. I already had the pH probes and controllers (Reef Keeper Lites) to monitor both tank pH and reactor pH. Using a very slow bubble, and drip, the reactor stays between 6.3 and 6.9 with the tank sating well above 8.15 during the day, and so far, not falling lower than 7.85 at night. The Alk level is still increasing in the tank to 9dkh (where I plan to keep it) and once there, I'm hopeful that it will stay above 8 at night too. The SPS have shown immediate positive reactions with nice white growth on every tip. I stingily believe that the extra co2 being added to the tank is having a positive affect on the zooxanthellae in the coral tissue walls and is increasing calcification.
