LITTLE SAIGON FOUNDATION & XO PRESENTS THE 2014 LUNAR NEW YEAR TẾT FESTIVAL AT QUALCOMM STADIUM
San Diego, CA – The Little Saigon San Diego Foundation is pleased to announce this year’s Lunar New Year Tết Festival will be held at Qualcomm Stadium for three exciting days. For thousands of years the Lunar New Year has been observed in various countries around the world influenced by Chinese civilization and it remains Vietnam’s most celebrated holiday. 2014 marks the Year of the Horse, an animal representing pace and enthusiasm that many believe signals a year of rapid development and prosperity.
About the Festival
The Lunar New Year Tết Festival is expected to attract 20,000 people and will include an array of diverse food and vendor booths while providing non-stop live entertainment and concerts, including a Miss Vietnam Pageant on Saturday and traditional Lion Dance performances several times a day. It is also one of the only events in the county besides the San Diego County Fair offering carnival rides appropriate for all ages.
Join us for Super Bowl Sunday and enjoy $5 beers all day long while you watch the game on several big screen televisions. Free admission will be offered from 10AM to 12PM each day for guests wearing traditional Lunar New Year costumes or military uniforms.
The Lunar New Year Tết Festival will be open Friday, January 31, 5PM-11PM, Saturday, February 1, 10AM-11PM and Sunday, February 2, 10AM-10PM. Admission is $5 for adults and $4 for children.
