We are putting a plan together to get the tothq going again. We want it to be a smooth and a standard process , in the past we have run into certain hurdles so to start with we are looking for a dedicated person or persons who would like to be involved with this. The skills have to be there to represent the tank at it's best. Moving forward we would like to see one primary and two back up's. More details to come-- Danny (Jada1) will be the contact please pm with your info. Getting pumped on getting this up and running .. Thanks --V--:bounce:

Maybe have the individuals do all the work and photos etc then submit it all to you guys
to decide who gets the honors

I like the idea of the same one or two guys shooting the tanks. That way it will insure that the shots aren't Photoshopped or doctored in any way. Also, one of the biggest issues I had when I was doing the TOTM was with the individuals themselves. It was hard enough to make an appointment to shoot the tank, let alone actually get them to fill out the questionnaire.

Let them
Do the Work
We need someone for the final pictures not for all of nominated tanks..

If someone wants totm and they do
They usually have a build thread where they take all their own pictures etc
If these individuals want it they will post up a storm about their tank
Now since we're not reefcentral with 7-10000 people online and ime with this site totm has always been a hassle
On the photographers tracking people down etc why not make it easier and have the individua who wants it do the work as their enjoying it all already with their thread

Ie: brahm on Rc just got totm and he lives in mammoth does Rc fly a pro photographer out there to photo the tank?

Totally agree. Making It harder than it needs to be. On the other hand if some one has an amazing tank & a not so amazing camera or camera skills, maybe there should be someone that volunteers or is chosen if there's a bunch of qualified candidates. The person that needs the photographer should definetly pay for gas and a frag or something. Or split up photographers by areas, North, south, east and west. My 2cents

Once again when I was doing the TOTM the problem was 100% with the person who won. They either couldn't be bothered with it or didn't think their tank was looking good enough. Having someone doing the photography on SDReefs behalf is necessary. If it is left up to the winners it will not get done. we never had a problem with taking pics or writing up the story of the tank. It was always a cooperation issue with the winner.

Il help hot any way I can! I'm in the southbay area!!

I think a lot of photos on here don't do tanks justice... id love to see some of these amazing tanks photographed correctly! I know everyone is different, but I think if this is going to happen every 3 months, 1 photographer who is qualified with great equipment should be able to go take a picture of the tank or maybe even a video? ! Just my 2 cents. I would just love to see some of these amazing tanks in high quality photos!

SDMAS/SDR members we are looking people host a club meeting so that we get together and meet each other ( and not just on-line or at the stores), share a little information and last but never least... see someone else's labor of love so that we can all appreciate all of your hard work and dedication... Thanks in advance ( HMU !!!! ) Staghorn
