if you aren't in a hurry, you take a coke bottle (plastic) cut the top off, and then turn the top pointing inwards then just put some food in there and wait.

But why can't the fish swim back out of the bottle? I have a GD damsel that I need to remove...

If that doesn't work, use a small hook (barb crimped) and line. That's how I had to get my royal dottyback out. . . It took a week, but I got her.. and she was okay .

I keep my fish so hungry that if I put a hook in there - God only knows which one will jump in it!

I had the same problem with my damsel. In the early morning. Turn the lights on and he'll be groggy and easy to catch. Just scoop him up in the net. They sleep at night.

I'll give that a shot. I am actually designing a small Hawaiian sling as a last resort. Actually, this might be what I use first - the GD thing pushed one of my Xenias into the sand....DEATH TO THE DAMSEL!
