Reefers,

I'm happy to announce that SDR is moving to a dedicated server. We will have roughly 10x the amount of resources available both in bandwidth and hardware. We expect this to be a smooth transition. Please be patient as we work out the details.

Thank You,
Chad

This should happen today folks. We may have a few outages due to the database backup.

Awesome to be able to move the site, with little to no hiccups... :) Pretty darn smooth thus far.

Not sure if when you say "work out the details" if you know;
Weblinks in posts or signatures are not redirecting. Anything with a www.SDReefs.com or www.SanDiegoReefs.com is not forwarding to the new www.SanDiegoReefs.net

Might want to put a banner up, or a blast PM out to everyone letting them know, and how to correct it. Some won't notice right off the bat, or know how to correct the error when they do notice.

When I noticed my signature links weren't working... I then went back to some relevant and important posts to swap out the URL for the newer site address. I'm sure there's LOTS and lots of posts out there not re-directing. Maybe a heads up for those savvy enough to change their links, or for those who care. ;)

OR... write a script/code for those errors, and have them update automatically. :D

Just another day in paradise!!

I am no longer able to log on at work. Could be a good or bad thing :lol:

The .net isn't a permanent thing. We should be back to .com soon.
